The Wild Nest

An exhibition by Radamés "Juni" Figueroa

May - July 2013
Based in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Radamés "Juni" Figueroa (1982) builds systems that evoke and celebrate life; life lived as climate, flora, fauna, music, clothing, and local businesses as canteens. Central to his work is the idea of the tropics, living in the tropics, not only as a visual reference but also as an artistic position. Figueroa enables spaces, anywhere in the world, for the interaction between artistic practice and the coexistence of the spectators. Figueroa has participated in multiple exhibitions and residencies across Latin America, Europe and the United States. In 2011 he opened and directed La Loseta, a one year exhibition space that showcased twelve exhibitions and musical events, and which concluded in the 1st Tropical Bienial, which he co-curated with Pablo León de la Barra, and which took place in La Comai beach, in Puerto Rico.
